Never truly an elite fighter when competing in MMA, Perry nonetheless built a fan base in the UFC on the back of his dogged style and outsized personality. Those traits have served him well since making the move to bare-knuckle boxing in 2022 as Perry seems to have found his perfect home, winning three straight and becoming the face of the promotion. Last time out he welcomed former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold to the ring, winning by second-round TKO, and now he meets another former UFC champion in Alvarez.

The darling of hardcore MMA fans throughout most of his career, Alvarez earned his nickname “The Underground King” by stacking up wins with his particular brand of violence all over the world, in whatever organization would have him. After finally moving to the UFC in 2014, Alvarez won the lightweight title there just two years later, cementing his legacy as an all-time great. Most recently, Alvarez made his BKFC debut back in April, taking a split decision win over Chad Mendes. Now he looks to confirm his status as one of the most violent men on the planet by beating Perry.
