Paige VanZant’s next bare-knuckle boxing match likely won’t be an immediate rematch against Rachael Ostovich.

David Feldman, president of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, doesn’t think the move is to have VanZant go at it again with Ostovich, but instead fight someone else. VanZant lost a decision to Ostovich last month in the BKFC 19 main event. It was their second time fighting each other, as they had previously competed in the UFC back in 2019, with VanZant winning by submission.

With the record tied up in combat sports, Feldman would like to see VanZant fight someone else instead of Ostovich – at least for the immediate future.

“I think we want to see what’s out there first,” Feldman told MMA Junkie Radio. “I shoved the Artem Lobov vs. Jason Knight rematch down everybody’s throat right away, and I think I made a mistake by not getting them one fight first. So I just want to see what’s out there first.

“We do have Beck Rawlings coming back, and that would be an interesting rematch for Paige, as well. We do have Britain Hart, who earned herself a rematch. So we just have to see first what makes sense for this 125-pound division and see what makes sense for everybody. We’re definitely going to start that tournament and get that championship going and see what makes sense for everyone.”

VanZant joined BKFC in August 2020 after leaving the UFC, where she competed for almost six years. The 27-year-old has been unable to notch a victory in bare-knuckle boxing, as she had lost to Britain Hart in her BKFC debut prior to the Ostovich fight.
