Blink and you might miss Eric “Thuggy Bear” Dodson.

All of Dodson’s wins in the BKFC Squared Circle have come in the first round, including two in 40 seconds or less.

Last weekend Dodson smashed his way to 3-1 under the BKFC banner with a 40-second KO victory over Dakota Highpine in their featherweight battle at the BKFC Prospect Series event at the sold-out Revel Arena in Albuquerque, NM.

“Hopefully my opponents keep dropping in the first round,” the hard-hitting ABQ fighter says with a laugh. “That’s what we’re training so hard for. Our long days and nights in the gym are paying off, and everything is working out in our favor.”

All fights are incredibly important to a combatant’s career, but Dodson said it was crucial that he return to the win column in his native 505.

“I couldn’t take another loss at home, so this fight was extremely important,” he says. “I think there was a lot of hype behind me as John Dodson’s brother, and after I got those two early KO wins. I definitely felt the repercussions of losing, so it was extremely important that it didn’t happen again.”

Dodson loves competing on the same card
