Edgard “The Dreamkiller” Plazaola is living the dream.
The hard-hitting featherweight is quickly establishing himself as one of the top rising stars in the world of bare knuckle fighting. On Friday, Plazaola smashed his way to 3-0 under the BKFC banner with a fourth-round TKO over Eric Dodson at the sold-out Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.
Plazaola emigrated to the United States from Nicaragua as a teenager. His family didn’t see a positive future for him in his home country, so it was decided he’d become an American citizen.
“I had goals for what I wanted to accomplish in the United States, but fighting was the last thing on my mind at that time,” he says with a laugh. “I came here with ‘The American Dream,’ like most immigrants.”
Flash forward a few years and Plazaola is one of the most promising fighters in the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion.
Plazaola is very proud to compete as the only Nicaraguan fighter on the BKFC roster, and he’s very gracious for the support that he’s received from fans in his country of birth.
