Agit Kabayel turned in a massive upset stoppage over previously undefeated Russian heavyweight contender Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier today (Sat., Dec. 23, 2023) at “Day of Reckoning” live on DAZN PPV from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Today’s card was stacked from top to bottom. Most fight fans are waiting for the two big attractions involving Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, but the PPV undercard delivered as advertised. This included a very large matchup between massive heavyweights Kabayel and Makhmudov, who was the heavy betting favorite entering this weekend.
Kabayel was able to gain an early advantage by utilizing his footwork, speed, and versatility with his strikes, which included some solid work to the body. Makhmudov was visibly slowing down after just a few rounds of action and it allowed Kabayel to move in for more punches in bunches. A collection of nasty body shots along the ropes in Round 4 eventually sat Makhmudov down and the fight was waived off.

Kabayel, 31, was also undefeated heading into this weekend, but he wasn’t given much of a chance to win. Luckily for him, oddsmakers weren’t expecting his best performance to date. Kabayel looked exceptionally good against a scary and very large heavyweight. This was his third-straight knockout finish and a victory that now pushes his undefeated professional record to 24-0.
