Josh Huber has been chasing Andrew Yates like a 1980s horror movie villain for years.

Huber – or “Hellboy,” as he’s referred to by fans – wanted to fight Yates when they were both competing in professional MMA. Huber followed Yates from MMA to BKFC when the matchup never materialized in the cage.

“It was Yates that drew me in more than anybody, just because I really wanted that fight,” the hard-hitting Denver welterweight says.

It was worth the chase. On Friday, Huber and Yates finally threw down in the BKFC Squared Circle at the sold-out National Western Center in Denver. Huber was victorious in his debut, sending Yates to the canvas five times en route to the fourth-round TKO. 

Huber isn’t done yet.

“I’ll definitely be fighting for BKFC again,” he says. 

“I think I had a pretty good showing, so I think I should get another big opportunity after that.”

Next on Huber’s hit list is a rematch with Alonzo “AAA” Martinez, who boasts a 3-1 record under the BKFC banner. They first met in the MMA cage in 2015, with Martinez taking home the win by decision.
