This was a successful BKFC debut for Wright in his hometown however, the Virginia win did not come without resistance, however.

Taking on Bellator vet in Pat Casey who had a handful of fights under that promotional banner. Wright had his mouthguard come out in the first round and he tasted the canvas in the process. Though his face was thoroughly cut up and swollen, Wright had to “show that dog” thereafter. Adapting his in-ring methodology in specific ways to change the tide-turning victory

Wright told #bareknucklenews:
“Yeah, definitely the game plan was definitely my right hand. My left hook, he was dipping under the left hook. So I was like alright. I had to make the adjustments. Even if that left hook missed, I need to make sure that the right hand is chambered and coming behind it. So that three, that lead hook set up the right hand. ”

He went on to say:
“The right hand hit right on the chin and I knew it was over. He got up but he still didn’t kind of know where he was. So the ref had to stop it. But I was ready to go. My coach told me when the ref stops giving him the eight count, be ready to jump on him as soon as the ref say go. I was going to go start the finish in his face.”

Growing up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, there was a lot of fights that Wright had in the streets with exposed fists. BKFC is simultaneously different but also familiar in a sense for The House of Muay Thai product.

This was a short-notice fight but Wright was working with some MMA guys at the gym when this bout offer came. He wants to take a bit more time than three weeks to specifically learn the sport of bare-knuckle boxing and have a longer camp before his sophomore BKFC outing.
