“The Man Blackie Chan” does not have a problem with losing his status as an undefeated fighter: “I need to heal and get back at it. It’s a minor setback for a major comeback. So that’s great, I’m glad to lose. O’s don’t bother me. I’m finally glad I got the taste, what it feels like to lose in a bare knuckle opportunity like this. So I can get back to the drawing board and get better from it. It just humbles me to make me a better fighter at the end of the day.”

These are the key lessons he takes away from the fight: “I probably could have been more patient. I have this thing where I’d be somewhat aggressive, but try to be laid back. Well, I could have stayed laid back a little bit longer because he was opening up and I was able to catch him, but he wasn’t ready yet to be picked apart just right then. He was in good shape. So to break him down would have taken a bit longer than what I was trying to set up for.”

Throughout fight week, Ollison showed the fans what type of entertainer he is: “I just got to be myself. Win, lose or draw, I got to put on a show. Whether I’m doing a press conference, whether I’m setting up a fight. I’m the guy that you want to have on your fight card to get the key people talking about it. You know, we’re going to stay in the headlines for sure. I might have lost this one, but I’ll be back soon and I’ll be cracking some more heads.”

This is what he describes as the biggest difference between MMA and fighting bare knuckle: “In bare knuckle, they tend to respect your punching power a little bit more. I got glanced with something. I got cut, started leaking right away. In MMA you can sit there and take a hit and you might not move out of the way. So it’s a little bit different. You get hit bone on bone. And not only does it just get you rocked, you get pain too. It’s not a good feeling.”

This is where “The Man Blackie Chan” got his nickname from: “The Man Blackie Chan came from me training with a training partner. I was doing some fancy stuff in the gym. Like jumping like a monkey off the wall. And he said: ‘You’re looking like Jackie Chan out here.’ And then somebody yells out ‘Blackie Chan’, and that’s what kind of stuck.”

Despite the setback, Ollison wants to be back in the Trigon soon: “For sure, I got three more fights on the deal. So we’re going to wrap that up and keep trying to push for that title fight. We’re going to keep pushing until we get what we want, till we take it all over.”
