Day of Reckoning: Fight Night

Daniel Dubois scored a violent stoppage win at the expense of Jarrell Miller earlier today (Sat., Dec. 23, 2023) at “Day of Reckoning” live on DAZN PPV from inside Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This bout was a classic war of attrition. Dubois was the faster man, more agile in his movement around the ring, and he looked to take full advantage of that speed differential. He was able to take an early lead, but the size and durability of Miller kept him in the fight. When Dubois feet began to slow a bit, Miller started landing more shots, particularly in the fourth round.

Credit to Dubois, however, as he was able to bounce back fresh from at least a couple difficult rounds. Whenever he kept his legs moving, he was able to walk Miller into heavy combinations that were clearly making a big impact. Miller continued to advance even into the latter few rounds, but his spent most of his remaining energy in the seventh trying to put the hurt on Dubois.

Exhaustion left him a sitting duck by the tenth. Dubois rocked and swarmed his opponent, scoring enough hard connections that the referee was forced to intervene.

Check out the video highlights below:

With the win, “Dynamite” improves to 20-2 as a professional, rebounding from his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. The 26-year-old former WBA champion impressed with both his grit and technical acumen here, surviving some tough moments but largely outclassing Miller in a quality win that leads him into 2024 with good momentum.
