Stewart faced another fellow Great Falls, MT fighter with an intense cross-town rivalry consuming the fight’s build-up. When asked if he’ll remember this historic hometown win for the rest of his life Stewart stated,

“Yeah, this is definitely a staple in my legacy, my athletic legacy. I’m going to treasure this moment forever. It was a great night for Montana. Montana packed this house, packed the card. I really think we made everybody proud. It’s to the moon for Montana and, you know, passed the moon for me because I’m ready to go. You know what I’m saying? (laughs)”

Now 4-0 in BKFC, Stewart said he knew thirty seconds after his company debut that he could become a world champion. He actualized that belief into reality tonight and cemented himself as a champion at 22 in the process. Stewart became BKFC’s youngest titleholder in history with the fight of the night garnering victory.

He felt like he drowned and swarmed Lopez with his fervent wrestling pace and mindset. Stewart feels he thrives under that pressure and knew that going beyond the third round to encroach into those deep waters would favor him.

A post-fight fist bump transpired after a lot of aforementioned bad blood that boiled over into the ring. When asked if there was respect between the two now, Stewart quipped, “Yeah. As a fighter, there’s definitely respect as a person. I don’t know. There’s just a lot of things untrue said about me. Like, I don’t forget that. But as a fighter, Louie earned some respect from me tonight.”

‘Hefty Bag’ is now eyeing former bantamweight champ Dat Nguyen next but also Howard Davis and Brandon Allen could be good title challengers per Stewart.

Until then though, post-weight cut tacos were the priority for the surging talent and inaugural 145 pound king in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
