In the featherweight division Eric Dodson won via stoppage after he dropped Gene Perez 3 times in Round 1. Dodson said of Perez, “He’s pretty durable and he’s known for getting back up and bringing the pace, bringing the pressure. So, I wanted to see personally if I could deal with it, but also give the fans a good show.”

Eric Dodson’s brother, John Dodson, who was also on the fight card, was in Eric’s corner during the fight. Eric says the experience of having his brother cornering him, “It’s the best feeling in the world in terms of corners. He knows everything that I do, but he’s also my older brother. We fight off of the mat as well. But also, whenever we do train, we train together.”

What is next for Eric Dodson? He says, “Next for me is we’re going to get back into the squared circle as soon as possible. I didn’t get injured. My face is perfectly fine, so my hands are good. Starting on Monday, we’re getting right back into the gym.”
