#CodyJenkins Eyes Fighting in Three Weight Classes Following #BKFC39 Bout!

Cody Jenkins fell to Quintan Foye by way of a unanimous decision at BKFC Norfolk. He had an earnest and fairly thorough account of how the story of that fight unfurled.

“So I knew it was going to be a good fight. I knew Quintan was going to come in. He was going to be game. The first couple of rounds, I think I kind of just was waiting a little bit too long. I was trying to be in his face. I know that even when he was catching me, I was in his face.”
“I was the one, I feel like, pressing the action. But I do know that I was a little bit light on the combinations, looking for just kind of one clean shot. I think that put me behind a little bit.”

Jenkins came on more in the later rounds but alas it ended up being too little too late. He knew he needed to pick it up a bit around the fight’s mid-way point after his corner Bishop Walker said that they might be falling behind on numbers.

Jenkins was also quite familiar with Foye leading into this fight. The two previously fought under mixed martial arts rules at Rocket Combat Sports 7 when Jenkins bested Foye by way of a unanimous decision in November 2021.

While he is newer to BKFC, this is Jenkins’ third bare-knuckle bout overall. He had a pair of BYB Extreme bouts that came before this BKFC debut effort. Plus, ‘Jenks’ has had MMA and Kickboxing bouts as well since 2010.

Having experience across a few combat sports, Jenkins has a special love for bare-knuckle and how it makes combatants fight right away. “A scrap the whole time” is how Jenkins described the whirlwind that is bare-knuckle competition.

Also, Jenkins wants to be active and is down to get back in there right away. There are plenty of options too as he has competed over two weight divisions (155 pounds and 145 pounds) so far in bare-knuckle boxing. But added that he could also go as low as 135 pounds with proper notice.
